Description
The pots are printed in PLA and are tested to make sure they hold water. They are all furthermore hand-sealed with cyanoacrylate where the base meets the walls for extra water-tightness.
Although the pots hold water, PLA may degrade over time (months) when exposed to high amounts of water, heat and UV-light and the pots should not stand on moisture-sensitive surfaces such as wood while filled with water.
PLA is malleable at 60°C and is therefore not dishwasher-safe.
The pots come with self-watering inserts with a water gauge (not produced by me). ?? The inserts go to the bottom of the outer-pot. If you would like to use a substrate that shouldn’t be submerged in the reservoar, you can fill the bottom with leca or another hydroponic substrate to wick the water to your substrate of choice.
